Hospitals that take a care-team approach to their hospitalist program can increase the hospital's long-term value. Funding the program in terms of its cost reduction, revenue generation, and cost avoidance abilities creates value for hospitals. Hospitals should organize their hospitalist program so it supports the organization's goals.
