Abstract
The COVID-19 virus has generated worldwide attention due to its recent discovery and rapid spread. There are currently almost 2 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide of which about 117,000 patients have died (WHO). March has seen fast rises in the number of cases in Italy, Spain and the US, which has focused the need for countries medical systems to contain the virus and prevent its spread. Currently the US has over 500,000 cases, the largest number of any country in the world. This has resulted in hospitals around the world producing action plans to isolate and treat suspected COVID-19 patients. In this exclusive interview for Hospital Practice Dr. Edward Jasper of Jefferson Hospitals discusses how his hospital has dealt with outbreaks in the past as well as how it is now preparing for COVID-19.Interview with Edward Jasper by Mike Gregg, Editor.
