Abstract
We thank Drs. Husted, Lip and De Caterina for their interest and thoughtful comments regarding our article, "Recommendation on the nomenclature for oral anticoagulants: communication from SSC of the ISTH."(1) We agree that both NOAC and DOAC abbreviations are becoming entrenched in the medical and lay literature and each have their own merits. We believe they both convey the concept that this group of medications are different than vitamin K antagonists and they were equally favoured in our survey. This article is protected by copyright.
